Recommended University Strategy

After looking at Nikolas's academics and what he wants to study, we built a shortlist that matches his profile and keeps IE University as the goal.

The schools below are similar to IE in style and quality: strong business programmes in Europe, taught in English, with an international student body.

They were also chosen because, apart from IE and ESADE's own entrance exams, there are no extra standardised tests to prepare for. The IE and ESADE entrance exams are also very similar, so the same preparation covers both.

Programme focus

Nikolas will apply mainly to Business Administration and Management degrees, plus related business programmes where a university offers a stronger version of them. We'll lock in the exact programme at each school as we build the applications.

We looked for universities with:

Solid Business and Management degreesTeaching in English, with an international student bodyA workload that pushes him without burning him outThings worth doing outside lecturesA mix of entry difficulty, so he isn't relying on one result

Application Roadmap

How we get Nikolas's applications built, step by step

  1. 1Phase 1

    Common application building blocks

We start by working on the documents and stories that every application needs, then tailor them to each university.

    What we do:

    • Build a strong CV that works across all applications
    • Map out the essays, personal statements and supplementary questions for each school
    • Review entry requirements and deadlines for every university
  2. 2Phase 2

    First applications: IE and ESADE

We start with the hardest and earliest ones: IE and ESADE.

    What we do:

    • Entrance exam preparation for IE and ESADE (the exams are very similar, so the same preparation supports both applications)
    • Work through ESADE's supplementary questions
    • Interview practice for IE and ESADE
    • Tailor the CV and any written materials to each school
    • Final read through before anything is submitted
  3. 3Phase 3

Next applications: ESCP, ESSEC and EDHEC

With the first applications moving, we turn to ESCP, ESSEC and EDHEC.

    What we do:

    • Personal statements for ESCP, ESSEC and EDHEC
    • Interview practice for ESCP and ESSEC
    • Rework the application materials for each school rather than reusing one version
    • Check everything over before it goes
  4. 4Phase 4

    Offers and the decision

When the offers start arriving, we help Nikolas work out which one to take.

    What we do:

    • Compare the offers side by side
    • Talk through the trade offs and settle on a choice
    • Help with the move to wherever he ends up
